Veggies Tales: Week 2

Two weeks and still going strong!!!!!! Because I'm getting bored with my current meal routine, I decided to add a new food into my life. Introducing quinoa!!!!!! Quinoa is grain, which has almost twice the protein as brown rice. I found this miracle grain at a nearby Safeway. It can be used in place of rice in any meal or recipe. To me quinoa has the texture of grits. So what did I do with it, I threw so salt, pepper, butter and cheese and TADA breakfast!!!! So quinoa and scrambled eggs have been my replacement for oatmeal.

Although I've been good, it's been hell watching tv with all the food commercials. I've even been having dreams about me eating meat. I think that's my subconscious saying "where's the meat,trick?" I'm now realizing how difficult it is going out and eating. Like yesterday I realized I can't eat Chic-Fil-A anymore O.O And going out to eat at restaurants, is a nice break from cooking every night but unfortunately only offer few choice. : /

But the biggest test will be this weekend. Steph and I are attending my older sister and grandmother's sorority fundraiser event tomorrow. Hopefully there will be other alternatives for meat. And that's not what I'm most worried about. The following day, my grandmother will be having brunch at her house. It's going to be hard to turn down bacon, sausage, and cornbeef hash. But it's ok we've be able to eat waffles, pancakes, homefries, oatmeal, and anything else that can make our hips spread.lol.
