With 2011 whining down, Stephanie and I focused on starting off 2012 right. One new years resolution we’ve both decided on is to give up meat. *gasp for air* It’s still hard for me grasp that idea that yesterday I ate my last Christmas meal with meat, but I digress. Being that half of my family is from the south, I grew up eating up eating all kinds of meat. As I’ve gotten older I’ve noticed that I eat less pork and beef (mainly because I’m too lazy to cook them both.lol). So I’ve decided to take it a step further and cut out poultry, as well as red meat. I don’t mind eating fruit but it’s the dreaded vegetables I can do without.
Strangely enough the one the main reasons I decided to become a vegetarian is my hair! Having natural hair dictates most my life (more than I would like to admit, but once again I digress). Recently I’ve realized how much I put into my hair. I pay attention to how much I wash/condition it, how much heat much I put on it, and most importantly what I put on it. I’ve spent countless hours in grocery stores, drug stores and Targets all over the DMV reading ingredients on hair care product, on the look out for hazardous sulfates and yuck silicones. All this time I focus on what goes on my hair and yet I don’t think twice about what I’m putting into my mouth. Sounds pretty backwards, right?
Now that I’ve seen the error in ways, I’m on to correcting them this very moment!!! Well…. Maybe not this very moment, there’re still leftovers in the fridge.lls. But as soon January 1st hits I’m a new woman.
