I have always favored Carter's clothes... Maybe it’s the OshKoshBgosh kid in me but before Khalani was born I frequented the Carter's clearance section and stocked her with clothes (sometimes only paying change for whole 3 piece outfits-as a result of their $10 coupons)
So needless to say today Khalani is wearing a Carter’s hoodie and matching sweatpants... with Carter’s unicorn slippers (found at Walmart)- YES they do pretty well at staying on her feet !!!! Her bib was a gift but is in the shape of a bandana, which is super trendy right now!!! STAY TUNED!!! Khalani and I will be releasing a Wintertime Lookbook on our YouTube channel!!! Coming soon!!! In the beginning of April I purchased Beautiful Textures' Curl Definer Styling Custard. I began using in place of the gel in my styling process. It has a really loose consistency, for those that are familiar with flax seed gel it looks like that. It smells so good, as a matter of fact it reminds me of Starbrust. I also use this product (just a little) to tame my edges for buns and puffs. But above all my favorite thing about this product is the price. I bought this for under $8 at my local beauty supply store. It clumps my curls just like Miss Jessies Jelly Soft Curls when applied to wet hair. When applied to semi-damp hair, it brings it brings out my natural curl pattern. After I detangle an old twist, braid out, etc I'll use this product (along with a little water and oil) to set my hair for the next style. This saves me so much air dry time. I can do my air hair at night and know that this product will set my hair for the next style and be dry in the more. I'm excited to used this product with styles I haven't mastered yet and see what happens. I definitely will be purchasing this product again. And might even become one of my staple products.

Peace, Danielle Hey curls!!! We're starting a new video series called The Basics. The videos are how-to's for the newly naturals and those transitioning. Peace, Danielle ![]() To achieve this hair I started with freshly washed an conditioned hair. I divided my hair into four sections as I normally do. I first applied Kinky Curly's Knot Today leave-in conditioner, followed by Shea Moisture's Curl Enhancer Smoothie. I then sealed with oil, then followed by EcoStyler Argan Oil gel. I know it seems like a lot, but I worked for me. lol After all the products were applied I two strand twisted my hair and wrapped them around teal colored flex rods. The next morning (Monday), my hair was not completely dry. So instead of untwisting my hair, I left my hair in twist until Wednesday night. Because of the flex rods there was some twist that spiraled which gave my hair a fuller look. I separated my twist more than I normally would to make my hair look bigger. Although I didn't master the twist and curl, I did enjoy the end results. Peace, Danielle Hey guys! Today I wanted to take the time to review 3 comparable powder foundations... The three foundations included are the new Loreal True Match Mineral Gentle Mineral Powder (on the left), NYX Stay Matte But Not Flat Powder Foundation (in the center), and the Benefit Hello Flawless Custom Powder Cover Up (on the right). All three foundations, I applied in the same fashion. I moisturize and prime my face, then apply and blend my concealer and lastly I apply the powder foundation in a patting motion with a flat top foundation brush. Jumping right in with the Benefit's Hello Flawless Custom Cover Up Powder Foundation... Is by far the high-end of the the three with its price tag at $34.00. The foundation comes in a box with a pamphlet that informs you that if you use a brush to apply the foundation, you'll get an airbrushed finish (like I wanted) whereas if you use a sponge, you'll get a full coverage foundation. The package comes with a make up sponge and a brush for application (but who uses those any). When I first tried this foundation I was super impressed the finish is much like your natural skin... It truly just makes your skin look healthy... But then one day when I had to use concealer in various areas, I went out to my car and looked in the mirror and I could see the difference between where the concealer was and where it wasn't. That of course was a huge downfall... Other than that you can get a full days wear out of this foundation... So if you don't have to wear concealer one day or you're in a rush this would be a good foundation... I'm seriously more impressed with the NYX Stay Matte But Not Flat Powder Foundation, with its price at $9.99, it'll save you money and is a strong dupe the the Hello Flawless. Just like the Hello Flawless, Stay Matte But Not Flat has two ways of application the first being with a brush for a lighter finish and the second being you can wet the foundation for a more full coverage foundation. I am truly impressed with this foundation because it has the same staying power as the Hello Flawless and you actually get half a gram more!!! The finish is just like your skin but better and I can never tell where my concealer meets and ends... I definitely prefer this foundation to the Hello Flawless... The new Loreal True Match Mineral Gentle Powder comes into play because I went to my local Ulta and they were out of my shade of the Stay Matte But Not Flat-_-. This foundation is a couple dollars more priced at $12.99 and I have to say I will probably be repurchasing this one over the Stay Matte But Not Flat and the Hello Flawless because it will be more readily available... Besides that you get more product 2 more grams than with the Hello Flawless and a gram and a half more than The Stay Matte But Not Flat... Although it doesn't have two ways of application, it's finish is very natural... And it's one that I love, I just wish the compact had a mirror like the other two foundations... It does claim to give 16 hours of wear... I don't know about that but I will say you'll get just as long of wear out of this foundation as the other two.
All in all I think the Hello Flawless is the only foundation I will not be repurchasing because of its price tag and the fact it really isn't any better in wear, finish or application than the other two foundations. With love... ... Steph (All prices quoted from Ulta.com) ![]() Hey curls, not too long a purchased 3 Sisters of Nature Natural Lengthening Creme. I'm not even sure how this got on my Amazon wish list or why I bought it(must the product junkie in me). Anyway, this product is claiming to elongate curls and add volume. It even claims to be compared to Miss Jessie's Stretch Silkening Creme, pretty big shoes to fill if you ask me. I was little nervous about using the product after receiving it in the mail and seeing some negative reviews on Youtube. But I threw my fears to the side and decided to give it a try. The product was applied to freshly washed and conditioned hair. My hair was divided into four sections and I used a generous amount, as the directions suggested. Once the product was applied to my entire head, I let my hair air dry for about 45 minutes. Not wanting to go outside with damp hair in this crappy DMV weather, I diffused my hair until it was fully dry. The end result was not pretty. My looked dull and felt chalked with product. My curls didn't look any longer than they normally do once dry. Instead of wearing my hair down, I pulled it back into a bun, which is how it remained for the rest of the week. I'll give it another try but I definitely won't spend my money on it. Peace, Danielle |
