Product Review: Beautiful Textures' Curl Definer Styling Custard

In the beginning of April I purchased Beautiful Textures' Curl Definer Styling Custard. I began using in place of the gel in my styling process. It has a  really loose consistency, for those that are familiar with flax seed gel it looks like that. It smells so good, as a matter of fact it reminds me of Starbrust.  I also use this product (just a little) to tame my edges for buns and puffs. But above all my favorite thing about this product is the price. I bought this for under $8 at my local beauty supply store.  It clumps my curls just like Miss Jessies Jelly Soft Curls when applied to wet hair. When applied to semi-damp hair, it brings it brings out my natural curl pattern. After I detangle an old twist, braid out, etc I'll use this product (along with a little water and oil) to set my hair for the next style. This saves me so much air dry time. I can do my air hair at night and know that this product will set my hair for the next style and be dry in the more. I'm excited to used this product with styles I haven't mastered yet and see what happens. I definitely will be purchasing this product again. And might even become one of my staple products.

Peace,
Danielle

Product Review: 3 Sisters of Nature Natural Lengthening C

Hey curls, not too long a purchased 3 Sisters of Nature Natural Lengthening Creme. I'm not even sure how this got on my Amazon wish list or why I bought it(must the product junkie in me). Anyway, this product is claiming to elongate curls and add volume. It even claims to be compared to Miss Jessie's Stretch Silkening Creme, pretty big shoes to fill if you ask me. I was little nervous about using the product after receiving it in the mail and seeing some negative reviews on Youtube. But I threw my fears to the side and decided to give it a try. The product was applied to freshly washed and conditioned hair. My hair was divided into four sections and I used a generous amount, as the directions suggested. Once the product was applied to my entire head, I let my hair air dry for about 45 minutes. Not wanting to go outside with damp hair in this crappy DMV weather, I diffused my hair until it was fully dry. The end result was not pretty. My looked dull and felt chalked with product. My curls didn't look any longer than they normally do once dry. Instead of wearing my hair down, I pulled it back into a bun, which is how it remained for the rest of the week. I'll give it another try but I definitely won't spend my money on it.

Peace,
Danielle

Product Review: Miss Jessie's Jelly Soft Curls

A few months ago I bought Miss Jessie's Jelly Soft Curl. But due to the fact that I'm product junkie I didn't actually use it until about two weeks ago. The goal of this product is create a lasting hold without the crunch of typical gel. The directions say to apply product to clean, damp, and detangled hair. Because I was twisting my hair, my head was already sectioned into four parts and I applied all products right before I twisted that piece. I put Jelly Soft Curls on my hair after my leave-in and coconut oil. As I raked the product into each section of hair, I could really see the hair starting clump together creating a nice curl. I hardly ever diffuse my hair but I'm interested to see how it would turn out with this product. The product to me kind of smells like laundry detergent. I really like this product. Will I buy again?..... The jury is still out but I will enjoy using it until it's gone.

Peace,
Danielle

Marbella Permanent Eyeliner Review

A few months ago, in my "MyGlam Bag" (now known as "Ipsy")... I received this Marbella Permanent  Eyeliner... I wanted to do a review on this product because I was severely disappointed in the $15.00 eyeliner.

First Impressions
It may come as no surprise that this eyeliner was hard to remove. It seemed to dry out my skin around the eye and stain the skin black. Even after repetitive washing the stained lines remained!!!
Aside from that, the application was flawless. The black line that came from this pen was very opaque and not washed out like most eyeliner pens. So at first I was willing to use this eyeliner as a "once in a while" eyeliner. But then.....

Final Impressions
After 3 months of on and off use, the eyeliners smell changed to a fishy smell... Silly me did not listen to the warning my nose gave me and I applied it anyway... I went to dance practice and of course i sweated, after one of my team members called to my attention, that my eyeliner had followed a trail of sweat down my face. Which would be okay with me, but I realized that I couldn't wipe this stained "eyeliner tear" away. There I was plastered with an eyeliner mark all the way down my cheek for the rest of practice and the ride home... EMBARRASSING!!!  Needless to say I have thrown this eyeliner OUT!

I DO NOT recommend this product to anyone... as the packaging clearly lies. Even in new condition this eyeliner is too harsh for the skin, for everyday use... BIG waste of money...

with love...
....Steph
